The
course acquaints students with fundamental aspects of writing an essay,
especially argumentative essay. The knowledge may be expanded to other academic
writing activities. The basis for starting a writing is critical thinking in
verbal and visual text. The features of writing such as cohesive, coherence,
and lexico-grammatical features are taught to write a meaningful writing.
Furthermore, how to find good resources and how to transform other resources
into own arguments in the form of paraphrase are also discussed to avoid
plagiarism.
